Apple HomeView, HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV 4K 2026: Prices, Chips, Release Dates and Our Verdict

    · Show Me My IP

Apple’s “Welcome Home” lineup brings a $299 A18-powered HomeView smart display, a $149 HomePod mini 2 with the S10 chip, and a $299 Apple TV 4K with A19. Here’s how their prices, release dates and Siri AI features compare—and what the LG and Schneider Apple Home Collection adds.

Announcement analysis, not a hands-on review. The images show the newly announced products: seven are supplied by Apple Newsroom, and the opening product image was supplied for this story. Prices are in US dollars; availability and software features vary by region.

Apple’s Welcome Home event: a connected lineup, not just a new screen

Apple’s smart-home strategy finally has a centerpiece. On October 13, the company introduced HomeView, its first dedicated smart display, alongside HomePod mini 2, a fourth-generation Apple TV 4K and the Apple Home Collection, a coordinated range of accessories developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric.

The launch is Apple’s most substantial connected-home push in years. HomeView competes for the kitchen counter and hallway wall with Amazon’s Echo Show and Google’s Nest Hub, while its companion speakers and streaming box give the Home app a stronger presence throughout the house.

The distinction is integration. Siri AI, household personalization, multiroom audio and accessory controls are designed to work across Apple devices. But the lineup is not complete on day one: HomePod mini 2’s Siri AI arrives later, and the accessory rollout stretches into early 2027.

Both HomeView versions have the same $299 device price, although wall-mount hardware adds to the installed cost. HomePod mini 2 ships first, on October 30; HomeView and the new Apple TV follow on November 13, 2026.

Apple HomeView design: A18 power and a 7-inch display

HomeView pairs a 7-inch square Liquid Retina touchscreen with a domed aluminum speaker base and a stainless steel hinge. Its adjustable display recalls the iMac G4’s floating screen, but the purpose is different: a shared home appliance rather than a personal computer.

True Tone adjusts the display to ambient lighting. Brightness ranges from 500 nits in sunny rooms down to 0.3 nits at the bedside—a detail that matters when a screen stays on in a bedroom. A 12MP Center Stage camera keeps people framed during FaceTime calls, and four beamforming microphones support voice requests across a room.

Audio is more than an afterthought. Two full-range drivers in the display join a down-firing woofer and two force-canceling passive radiators in the countertop base. Apple advertises Spatial Audio and computational tuning; whether it replaces a dedicated kitchen speaker will require listening tests.

The countertop model comes in silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray. The wall-mounted version, available in silver and space gray, omits the countertop base and uses wall-oriented audio. Schneider Home offers purpose-built mounts, including a USB-C wall connector from $59.95 and an AC-wired option from $79.95.

HomeView features: Siri AI, household recognition and privacy

HomeView recognizes up to six household members and presents a personalized view for each. Calendars and notifications connect to a paired iPhone or iPad, while customizable faces offer weather, photos, artwork and useful information for shared spaces.

Siri AI can draw on personal context and carry conversations between HomeView and other Apple devices. Handoff moves a song, podcast, call, video or recipe from an iPhone to the display. The Home app brings camera feeds, lighting, locks, thermostats and scenes together without requiring a separate control screen for each accessory.

There is an important correction to pre-launch speculation: Apple’s announcement explicitly supports compatible third-party audio and video apps from an iPhone, in addition to its own apps. That is not the same as promising an unrestricted standalone App Store, but HomeView should not be dismissed as Apple-apps-only.

Apple says personal information stays separate between household members. Its A18 chip uses Secure Exclaves to compartmentalize camera and microphone processing, while Apple Intelligence combines on-device work with Private Cloud Compute. Personal-context requests require a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled paired device and supported software.

HomeView price and release date: $299, November 13

The HomeView price is $299 in the United States for either version. Pre-orders opened October 13, with availability beginning November 13, 2026. Wall-mount accessories are separate purchases.

Apple’s announced English-language launch includes the US, UK, Canada, Australia, India, New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa. Canadian French support is planned for a later free update. The European Union is not included in the initial launch list.

For an iPhone household, the appeal is a shared screen that stays available when phones are charging or in another room. For everyone else, ecosystem requirements and regional restrictions deserve as much attention as the headline price.

HomePod mini 2: S10 chip, new colors and Sound Glow

The HomePod mini 2 keeps the original compact spherical form but replaces the S5 with Apple’s S10 chip. Pink, blue and green join white and midnight, giving the refreshed speaker a brighter range of finishes.

Sound Glow turns the top surface into a visualizer: colors echo album artwork and pulse with music, while soundscapes receive matching ambient patterns. Apple also adds a more persistent Mac-speaker experience and support for a four-speaker surround setup with the new Apple TV 4K.

The biggest buying caveat is software. Siri AI will not be available on HomePod mini 2 at launch; Apple says it will arrive through a future update without specifying a date. Buyers should judge the speaker on what it does when delivered, not only on promised assistant improvements.

The HomePod mini 2 price is $149, with pre-orders open October 13 and availability on October 30, 2026. The upgrade is easier to justify for a new multiroom setup than for someone whose existing mini already handles music and basic home controls satisfactorily.

Apple TV 4K 2026: A19 chip and hands-free Siri AI

The new Apple TV 4K A19 model retains a familiar compact enclosure while moving up from the previous generation’s A15 Bionic. Apple claims substantial CPU and GPU gains; real-world streaming, gaming and assistant performance still need independent testing.

Built-in far-field microphones are the practical headline. Siri AI can respond from the couch without a remote in your hand, use personal context for content discovery and show general answers in a corner of the screen rather than replacing the program you are watching.

The box also supports up to four compatible HomePod speakers for calibrated surround sound and continues to act as a HomeKit and Matter home hub. Check Apple’s model requirements before assuming older speakers can join every new surround configuration.

A redesigned Siri Remote supports an audible locating feature and Find My with Precision Finding. It is also sold separately for compatible earlier Apple TV devices, so a missing-remote solution does not necessarily require a new streaming box.

Apple TV 4K 2026 costs $299 and arrives November 13, with pre-orders beginning October 13. Siri AI is also available in beta on Apple TV 4K second generation and later in supported English-language regions, reducing the pressure to upgrade solely for the assistant.

Apple Home Collection: LG and Schneider accessories and prices

The Apple Home Collection addresses a long-standing HomeKit problem: accessories may work together technically while still requiring different setup routines, apps and subscriptions. Apple collaborated on a curated family of cameras, a doorbell, a deadbolt, thermostats and sensors manufactured by LG and Schneider.

    AccessoryManufacturerUS price
    Video Doorbell WiredLG$250
    Floodlight CamLG$400
    Outdoor CamLG$300
    Indoor Cam — motorized tiltLG$200
    Smart Deadbolt LockLG$350
    Smart ThermostatLG / Schneider$200 each
Temperature and humidity sensorLG / Schneider$40 each

The rollout starts in December 2026, with selected accessories following in early 2027. Apple has not disclosed a common processor for the collection. Buyers should confirm the shipping date and compatibility of each accessory instead of treating the range as one immediately available bundle.

Camera features include person, pet, vehicle and package recognition, with iCloud-based recording and up to ten days of event history under applicable iCloud+ plans. Some plans add Apple Intelligence descriptions and natural-language clip search. “No separate camera subscription” does not mean every cloud feature is free or independent of iCloud+.

The LG Smart Deadbolt Lock offers proximity access with a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch, along with tap access, a PIN and a physical key. Matter and Aliro support are relevant to interoperability, while thermostats can use compatible room sensors for more representative temperature readings.

Connectivity needs careful reading. Thread, Matter, Wi-Fi and local operation describe different parts of a system: Thread is not a replacement for the bandwidth cameras need to stream video. Check individual product specifications, hub requirements and offline behavior before purchase.

How HomeView, HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV work together

The strongest case for the lineup is an ordinary evening: a doorbell alert reaches the household speakers, HomeView shows who is outside, the Home app opens a compatible lock, and Apple TV starts a requested show while HomePod speakers handle surround sound. The thermostat then uses room readings to adjust the temperature.

That is the intended system experience, not a result we have tested. The real questions are latency, recognition accuracy, accessory reliability and how gracefully the devices handle lost internet connectivity, guests or several people speaking at once.

Shared foundations can reduce friction, but two gaps remain. The cheapest speaker launches without Siri AI, and the accessory collection is staggered across several months. Early buyers will not receive the complete smart-home vision in a single delivery.

Our verdict: HomeView stands out, but buy for today’s features

Design: HomeView is the standout. The floating display, adjustable hinge and very low minimum brightness show attention to how a screen lives in a shared room. HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV place most improvements inside familiar cases.

Chips: A18 in HomeView and A19 in Apple TV provide a stronger platform for Apple Intelligence and graphics. S10 modernizes the mini, but delayed Siri AI support is a reason to separate hardware capability from launch-day software.

Price: A $299 display with speakers, a camera and household personalization is a compelling proposition for Apple users. A $299 streaming box is a harder sell unless home-hub controls, surround audio or gaming are central to your setup. The $149 mini must earn its price before its future assistant update arrives.

Bottom line: HomeView is the most interesting new Apple home category in years. Wait for independent reviews before committing to a whole-house system, and check accessory availability and Siri AI timing before buying several speakers. A coherent ecosystem on paper still needs to prove itself in real homes.
